And Another...

HOW SAM & MAX HIT THE ROAD TAUGHT ME TO LOVE WORDS

This article from Kotaku came in yesterday as well. Always disconcerting to hear from grown-ups who were little kids when they first played it. I'll be over here in my coffin if anyone needs me.

  2. @Kate Ooh, Sam would love that!

By the way, Steve, it's nice that Sam and Max are unintentionally educating the people of this world! It's very charitable of them! :3

  3. I only played that one recently for the first time, but since english is my second language, I appreciate all the convoluted vocabulary I can get!

  5. I have played the Telltale games (but not the original, yet). I also learned some words! Thanks to Sam & Max now I know what is a lagomorph :)

  6. I was like 4-5 years (1994-1995) old when my dad bought this game. When I was stuck, I asked him to help me read the walkthrough. I learned reading because of Hit the Road, when my dad wasn't home, I was not able to read the walkthrough by myself. I learned a lot of things with this, like what pecan nuts are !

My sense of humour is questionnable because of YOU, Steve. But I love you, you're one of the stranger I love the most !

  7. I haven't played the original Hit the Road game, but the TV series and the Telltale games have sent me to the dictionary on multiple occasions... and I'm an adult XD Interesting to note is that most of the words I had to look up came from Max XD I think the record was three words to look up that were said within five seconds or so of each other XD It was in the episode "Tonight We Love" and the words were "whim-wham", "moony" and "paramour".

So thank you for creating likeable characters with obscure word choices in their vocabularies, thereby lending educational substance to my interests :D
